saint maurice abbey's roof - saint maurice

[what]: a roof to cover an abbey built 1.500 years ago

[where]: saint maurice, switzerland

[who]: savioz fabrizzi architectes

[when]: 2010

The proposal hangs over the building 170 tons of stones, with what appears to be a light-weight pergola. It provides a shaded area to contemplate the ruins, being the sunlight sifted through the stones.
